I have been working in the field of construction for 30 years on various infrastructure and vertical construction projects. In the course of my work, I have interfaced with a countless number of designers in various disciplines. Most designers have little or no construction experience in their discipline. This significantly limits their ability to provide a high-quality design. The result being numerous oversites and errors which must be corrected at the time of construction. Designers who have construction experience, are at a major advantage so that when they prepare their design, they can anticipate potential difficulties and already correct them at the design phase, prior to construction. Yossi Golano, of Golano Designs, is, by far, one of the best designers I have ever worked with. Due to his vast, hands-on experience, Yossi is a designer par-excellence. I have personally worked with Yossi on the design of the new kitchen in our home.
A few of the many qualities about Yossi Golano worth highlighting are as follows:
1. Yossi’s attention to detail are above and beyond any designer I have ever encountered.
2. Yossi can think “out-of-the-box” and provide creative solutions which might not be so obvious to the average person or the average designer.
3. Yossi can anticipate the ramifications of every possible change or variation in order to allow his client to make informed decisions about their design.
4. Yossi provides the quickest possible turn-around (usually within a day or two) at every step of the design process. "We worked with Golano Design to design our kitchen. At the onset of the project, we had no clear direction of what we wanted or even what could be done. All we knew was that we were moving into an apartment without a machson; so, everything kitchen related, including Pesach “stuff” had to fit inside the new kitchen, plus we wanted room for 4-5 to eat a meal comfortably.
Yossi refused to allow us to compromise aesthetics for functionality.

I have been working in the field of construction for 30 years on various infrastructure and vertical construction projects. In the course of my work, I have interfaced with a countless number of designers in various disciplines. Most designers have little or no construction experience in their discipline. This significantly limits their ability to provide a high-quality design. The result being numerous oversites and errors which must be corrected at the time of construction. Designers who have construction experience, are at a major advantage so that when they prepare their design, they can anticipate potential difficulties and already correct them at the design phase, prior to construction. Yossi Golano, of Golano Designs, is, by far, one of the best designers I have ever worked with. 2. Yossi can think “out-of-the-box” and provide creative solutions which might not be so obvious to the average person or the average designer.

4. Yossi provides the quickest possible turn-around (usually within a day or two) at every step of the design process. In our project, each time we made a decision and were ready to move-on to the next phase, Yossi gave us his prompt attention and provided updated design elevations and even videos so that we could see what our kitchen would look like.
5. Yossi personally cooks in his own kitchen and has an outstanding sense of spacial positioning and common sense which most clients would only expect in a female designer.

I’ve known Yossi Golano for many years. We first hired him to build matching vanities for our bathrooms. The vanities were built strong and look elegant wherever they sit. Then we hired him to build a children’s closet. Yossi took every measurement and design aspect into account and built a stunning closet that still looks new today. When we needed to design a kitchen, I didn’t think twice. We sat with Yossi, and he walked us through every inch of the process. We talked about sizes and practicality, we talked about colors and usability. We talked about technicalities and we laughed about crazy stories. Here are a few examples of what made it a pleasant experience. He was patient with us when we weren’t sure what colors to choose and lent us plenty of samples to take home and match with our furniture. He made suggestions and insights to help explain why to choose certain types of cabinets and colors. Yossi also went through and explained how certain items could be upgraded but were not necessary and helped us consider budgetary considerations. A few times he made practical suggestions, which turned out to be excellent, where he could have made more money by offering an upgraded package. At the same time, he also suggested a special spice drawer and original pantry design, which to this day, I feel are both terrific options.
Yossi spent a lot of time with us. Not only through multiple design options that he tediously drew out for us (probably over five times), but what impresses me the most is the exactness of his art. My kitchen is installed down to the millimeter. You will not find one spot out of place or one area not accounted for. Additionally, when someone else made an unplanned mistake, Yossi was there with his tape measure correcting his own designs so the mistake will be made up for.
My wife and I will always say we love our kitchen, and we owe that appreciation to the work Yossi did for us. I very highly recommend him, and the next time I need a designer, I won’t think twice who to go to.

Pretty quickly we had a design we were completely happy with, and once the kitchen was built even our seasoned kablan could not believe how exactly the kitchen mirrored Yossi's drawings. Working with Yossi was a pleasure, he would send updated drawings often on the same day, was always happy to make just another small change, and just generally made the whole process fun and stress-free. We have been delighted with our kitchen and recommend him unreservedly.
